Lorna Webb, Founder

The Bridge was created from personal experience of how physically and emotionally difficult it can be returning home after hospital, or adjusting to life with a new baby.

I understand how overwhelming it can feel when you are expected to rest and recover while everyday life continues around you.

I have been on both sides of that experience. When my son arrived nine and a half weeks early by emergency c-section, and later when I had surgery myself, I felt it acutely. We were surrounded by goodwill but short on practical help. People cared deeply but didn’t quite know how to help. I found myself managing them as much as they were trying to look after me. And when my partner’s mother was recovering from a hip replacement, I went to stay for the week, and I saw how much difference it made simply to have someone calm and capable there, getting on with things, without any fuss.

Those experiences, and others like them, showed me that what people really need at these moments isn’t just medical care. It’s an extra pair of hands and someone steady alongside them while life settles back into place.

I know that looking after someone well isn’t just about being there. It’s about understanding how that particular person wants to recover, what they need that day, and what they don’t. It’s about hoovering the kitchen floor, sorting meals, getting someone to their appointment, and then leaving them in peace if that’s what they need.

That is what I set out to offer with The Bridge. Practical, thoughtful support tailored to what you need, always with warmth, discretion and respect.

If you are wondering whether The Bridge is right for you or someone you love, get in touch. No commitment, no pressure, just a conversation.
